The eighth-generation Volkswagen Passat is unveiled in detail after the Paris Motor Show as the engines of the European version. It is 85 kilograms lighter than the previous generation, the new Passat comes with a range of engines that are more efficient by 20%, all equipped as standard with stop / start and regenerative braking. It comes with an optional DSG dual-clutch gearbox, which is available for all engine variants and standard on the more powerful. So let’s start from the petrol units – there are five engines with the smallest represented by the 1.4-liter TSI version available in 125 hp and 150 hp in the technology of cylinder deactivation and reported consumption of 4.9 liters / 100 km. There will also be 3 versions for the 2-liter TSI 180, 220 and 280 horses.

Additionally, five units for diesel engines from 1.6-liter TDI and 120 hp are also available with BlueMotion. The other is the displacement of the 2-liter TDI with 150, 190 or 240 hp. In particular, the model has a 240-horsepower twin-turbo 500 Nm of torque that reaches 240 km / h and is offered as standard with a 7-speed DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive.

Consumption? 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers with 139 grams of CO2 emitted.
