Non-Surgical Facelift – Beauty Without Going Under the Knife

Facelift is often associated with surgery, but not really. Today, several procedures enhance beauty and lessen signs of ageing without having to go under the scalpel.

Non-invasive facelifts are suitable for a patient who likes gain but not the pain. They don’t require the patient to be in bed or take some rest after the procedure, so it doesn’t disrupt one’s routine. If pain is felt, over-the-counter painkillers usually solve the problem. Non-surgical facelift is ideal for patients with thin skin on their faces, and whose skin problem is not that severe. In case of very saggy and very wrinkly face, a surgical procedure is most likely needed.

There are generally no risks involved with non-surgical facelift, although occasional bumps, blisters and skin pigmentations may occur. The most common yet temporary reactions to the procedure include redness and swelling.

Non-surgical facelift costs from $500 to $5,000, depending on the number of treatment procedures and the size of area treated. Most procedures only require a single session, while others have up to three or more.

The procedure uses either infrared or radiofrequency. These technologies have not been tested for very long but have been well received by medical practitioners and patients alike. Some prefer infrared because they say it promotes a more even and controlled heating on the skin.

Other Options

Aside from infrared and radiofrequency treatments, there are non-surgical facelifts, which can be done at home. These include the application of creams, ointments, soaps, and use of handheld face rejuvenation devices. Other options need professional training including hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (Botox) cosmetic acupuncture and thread facelift.

After the procedure, the patient may notice strange redness, pigmentation and swelling on the face, something very different from the look they want. As with most skin issues, it’s always best to eat healthy, keep hydrated and exercise regularly. In addition, the application of moisturizers and sunscreen help the skin more radiant, young- and healthy-looking.
